Who you're agreeing with
Heart of Care is operated by Briana F. Harden, CPS-MH, CPRS Apprentice, PBT ("Heart of Care," "I," "me"). These terms apply to everyone who visits the site, signs up for emails, takes a quiz, downloads a resource, or buys something from the shop.
Peer support, not clinical care
Heart of Care offers peer support — lived experience, gentle tools, and community. It is not psychotherapy, psychiatric care, medical advice, crisis intervention, or a substitute for any of those.
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, please call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Age-restricted content (18+)
Most of Heart of Care is built to be safe for every age — youth, adults, and elders. A small, clearly-labeled corner of the site (the Salty Honey Badger room and any page marked "adult language ahead") contains adult language and frank recovery talk. By entering those pages you confirm you are 18 years of age or older, or a parent/guardian giving permission. Your confirmation is stored only in your own browser.
If you arrived here as a youth client, family member of a youth client, or anyone under 18, please stay on the main porch — none of the age-gated content is required reading, and the rest of the site is meant for you too.
Your account & content
- You're responsible for keeping your login info secure.
- You agree to be honest, kind, and non-harmful in any story you submit or any community space you join.
- I reserve the right to remove content or accounts that harass, threaten, or harm others.
- Stories you submit remain yours; you grant me permission to publish them on Heart of Care with the attribution you chose.
Buying things
- Workbooks, art, and other items are sold through the Heart of Care shop, with payment processing by Stripe.
- Prices are in US dollars unless noted. Sales tax is added where required.

- Digital downloads are delivered to your email — please keep your address current.
Intellectual property
All writing, artwork, workbooks, characters (the Honey Badger, Jesse James, the Cluckshack crew, Sage & Sire, and the rest), photography, and design on Heart of Care are owned by Briana F. Harden unless otherwise noted.
You're welcome to:
- Print and use workbooks you purchased for your own personal healing.
- Share blog excerpts (a few sentences) with a link back to the source.
- Quote or screenshot for personal, non-commercial reflection.
You're not welcome to:
- Resell, republish, or repackage workbooks, art, or content.
- Use Heart of Care content to train AI models without written permission.
- Strip credit or use the characters/branding for your own products.
Honest limits of liability
I do my best to keep the site working and the content useful, but Heart of Care is offered "as is." I'm not liable for indirect or consequential damages from using the site or content. Where the law allows, my total liability is limited to what you've paid me in the past 12 months.
Changes
I may update these terms occasionally. Meaningful changes get a date update at the top and a heads-up in the next porch letter.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Heart of Care is operated. Any disputes will be resolved in good faith, ideally through conversation first.
