weekends after 2pm

Come help us grow this place

Saturday and Sunday afternoons, the gates open at The 99 Retreat, the Cat Nap Inn, and the Cluckshack. If you've got a couple of hours and you want to put your hands in the dirt, we'd love to have you.

What we'll be doing

  • Plant flowers, trees, and brand-new beds

We're carving out fresh beds and softening hard corners with color.

  • Build the family gardening plots

Plots for families who want a row of their own — tomatoes, sunflowers, greens, whatever calls them.

  • Lay pathways

Stepping stones, mulched paths, places that feel walked-on and welcoming.

  • Mow the grass & tidy the beds

Honest yard work. Mr. Pete may take a victory lap on the riding mower.

  • Help start the community-supported agriculture

We're building toward a CSA — every set of hands gets us closer.

  • Music, crafts, and a real meal

We eat together. We make things. Somebody always brings a guitar.

And — this part matters — we have fun. There's always food. There's always music. There's always a porch to sit on when your back tells you it's time. Bring kids. Bring your dog if they're chicken-safe. Bring whatever skill you've got; we'll find a use for it.

Text the Honey Badger to sign up

Send Briana a quick text — your name, which weekend you're thinking, and whether you're bringing anybody with you. She'll let you know what's happening that day and where to park.

On a laptop? The text button opens on your phone — or just save 912-230-2885 and text from there. New volunteers always welcome — no experience needed, just a willing pair of hands.
